some might wonder if this is done in photoshop or something similar - the answer is no. my daughter and I like to throw things in the air and take pictures of them (the rule is that i have to throw and photograph - which adds to the fun). the other day, we were talking about snow white and the seven dwarfs and although we live with someone named 'grumpy,' he's too heavy to throw into the air and not much fun to photograph either. so we decided to throw one of the dwarf's pickaxes in the air and photograph that. this photograph is the result of that effort.

This is the most creative picture I've seen today. Thank you for stopping by Greensboro Daily Photo and thank you for having such a heartfelt blog!

I love that lavender sky. Gorgeous. I also love your game of throwing things in the air and photographing them. Happy Weekend.

What a wonderful, imaginative shot. But when I saw it I thought "Hi ho, it's home from work we go!". The photo just has that happy 'feel' about it.
Thanks for visiting my site.

gDP - Thank you. I'm glad you liked what you saw.

Sylvia K - thank you. We like motion in our photos, we're pleased you do too.

Carver - I'm not sure where that color came from - but I know where the pickaxe came from! We will have more someday.

Susan - why thank you!

Susan H. G. Anytime - let us know when you'll be in NY. I've been wondering if I should try to video tape what it's like to throw an axe in the air, photograph it and get the heck out of the way.

MonikaRose - thank you. What a great description of soaring!

Sandy - tools, toys, you name it, if we can throw it in the air and it looks fun hanging there up photographed against the sky, we will.

Regina - thank you. It's great that you liked it.

George - You're right - there is something exuberant about seeing your tools flying through the air having their portrait done!

Thanks everyone. It was great having you visit and comment.

I agree with Susan - I wanna come play too.

Love your blog and I'm glad you found your way to mine to bring me here. :)
I'll be back.

This makes me feel not-safe. The opposite of safe. Afterall...an axe flying through the air cannot possibly make anybody feel safe, now, can it? :)

I guess it keeps you off the streets!! Nice photo. Impressive that you threw and shot!

Definitely one of the more interesting skywatches. Look out below---pickaxes, they be a flyin'! :o) (Nice sky, too!)

Carletta - thank you. I enjoyed 'round the bend' very much. We're throwing stuff up in the air almost every day. Sometimes twice. Even a large, inflatable dog after dark tonight. Someday, google earth will photograph our yard when we are throwing stuff up in the air. That'll be a fun picture to have.

Charity - It is most assuredly not safe. You have to be a little bit off-center to do this. I do have to tell you though there is really no time to look at the view screen when a pickaxe is falling towards you. You just shoot the sky and hope you got the shot. . . sometimes it works and it makes us laugh. Sometimes it doesn't work and it makes us laugh harder (like the time I fell over when throwing a tricycle in the air and shooting that). You really don't want to try this. You are so sweet to worry about us!

Betty L. - Thank you for commenting. Actually - we sometimes take these photos out in the street as we get a good view of the sky there. But it's a quiet street. The most dangerous parts are, you know, when the axe falls.

Holl - I feel like, my whole life, the sky has just been sitting up there waiting for Jilly Nines and me to throw stuff at it. Today we saw cloud that looked like a crab and we were kicking ourselves for not having a single crab toy with us to throw at the cloud and photograph. . . Thank you, always for the comments.
